Here’s what’s coming up on the next State of Belief Radio:
A new pope! Nope, Pope Francis wasn’t available, but we’ll hear from Religion News Service Editor-in-Chief Kevin Eckstrom (who we find to be pretty infallible himself!) on what the election of the first Argentinian pope means to the Church, to contemporary religion, and to the rest of the world.
Also, sex ed without condoms. It sounds like a provocative metaphor, but it’s actually the story Journalist Andy Kopsa has been following in Mississippi, the state that leads the nation in both religiosity and teen birth rates. You can read her recent article on this in The Atlantic.
And the Rev. Pat Bumgardner, senior pastor of the New York congregation of the Metropolitan Community Church, the world’s largest LGBT organization, on the Supreme Court’s taking on DOMA later this month, and why that should be important to all of us. Rev. Pat is also Executive Director of the Global Justice Institute, and we’ll get an update on the important work of that organization.
That’s all coming up next time, on State of Belief! Here’s how to listen.
