Here’s what’s coming up this weekend on State of Belief Radio:
Matthew Vines, the author of a powerful new book the religious right did everything in its power to keep from being published. Why? Well, it’s titled God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case In Support of Same-Sex Relationships – and it makes the case very, very well.
Also, a frightening new report titled American Culture Warriors in Africa: A Guide to the Exporters of Homophobia and Sexism with author the Rev. Dr. Kapya Kaoma, an Anglican priest from Zambia who serves as a Project Director at Political Research Associates, which published the book.
And Stiefel Freethought Foundation head Todd Stiefel. His bold new initiative is called “Openly Secular,” and it boldly aims at building a coalition of secular and religious groups to encourage nonreligious people to “come out.”
Plus This Day In June: a book about pride month aimed at 4 to 8-year-olds. It’s published by the American Psychological Association’s Magination Press, and we’ll meet the author, Dr. Gayle E. Pitman.
