On the next State of Belief Radio – Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Not so comprehensive, if you look at some of the groups being excluded from the current legislative proposal which just moved out of the Senate Judiciary Committee. We’ll look at the moral aspects of those exclusions with the Rev. Donna Schaper, a longtime immigration activist and Senior Pastor at Judson Memorial Church in New York City.
We’ll also consider what it means that there are currently no provisions banning profiling based on religion or national origin with Glenn Katon, Legal Director of Muslim Advocates.
And Irish philosopher Peter Rollins has a new book out. The provocative title is The Idolatry of God: Breaking Our Addiction to Certainty and Satisfaction. It’s a provocative oxymoron, and one that he’d better have a good explanation for. We’ll talk about that, and I’ll also ask him why he calls himself a “pyro-theologian.”
That’s all coming up this weekend on State of Belief! Here’s how to listen.
