This week on State of Belief, Interfaith Alliance’s weekly radio show and podcast, we’re continuing our end-of-the-year series of deep dives with a look at the significance of the number of women elected to Congress this year, the state of journalism, and how the Religious Right has gained political influence over the past decade.

Rachel Maddow has long been an invaluable voice for reason and honest reporting in the constantly swirling media circus. She’s been instrumental in parsing out the various investigations and implications surrounding the Trump administration, as well as covering the military’s increasing role in American politics since the end of World War II. Rachel sat down with State of Belief host Rev. Welton Gaddy to discuss the growth of the Religious Right since the two first met a dozen years ago, the current threats to religious freedom in the country and her optimism for the historically-diverse Congress coming into the new year.
